Ate Lunch With Slyvester Stallone!

Well...we didn't actually eat with him, but he ate at a table 10 feet from us. We had a staff meeting today and for lunch we all went out to a western restaraunt about ten minutes away from our office. We sat down, ordered our food and as we were talking Slyvester Stallone and about five other guys sat down at a table outside the restaraunt. Apparently he had eaten there the day before also, but our brief encounter with stardome was fun. He sat outside talking with a bunch of guys and was smoking a big cigar. This was one of the many times I wished I had a camera on my phone. So...you better go see Rocky #459 when it comes out in theaters soon. It is funny, because I was just reading a news article the other day about how they put the Rocky statue outside the Philadephia art museum again. Seeing him made me want to run up those steps in preparation for my appearance on the Contender next season. Adrian!!!!!

Daddy-Daughter Day

We just got done a two week training session here in Chiang Mai on Thursday and I haven't been able to spend a lot of time with Eliana recently. So yesterday Eliana and I had Daddy-Daughter time while Angela went out to relax. We went to the mall and went power shopping for a new outfit and here it is. Actually I think this is probably only the second piece of clothing we have ever "had" to buy for Eliana. We had a lot of fun, except for the 15 minutes of crying before Eliana finally fell asleep. She also had fun trying to grab Domino our cat. She loves to try and grab at his fur and then rip it out as hard as she can. We love you guys and will see you soon.

Life Goes On

For all you who are wondering if we are safe and what is going on here in Chiang Mai, we just wanted to let you know that we are fine and life is going on pretty much as normal. Most of you have heard by now that there was a government takeover by the military a couple of days ago. For the past half a year there has been a lot of political turmoil here in Thailand over the Prime Minister and alleged corruption and the violence that is taking place in the South from Muslim sepratists. The military took control of government offices and tv and radio stations two days ago with the stated goal of ending corruption in the government and returning power back to a Democratic Monarchy in the next two weeks. I guess elections won't be held for another year, but a temporary government is supposed to be put into place in the next two weeks. We will see. As I said before, life is going on pretty much as normal here in Chiang Mai. Today I went to the bank and drove around town a little bit. Except for the two tanks that I saw and some military vehicles you would never have known that the government was just overthrown. Thai people I think are just taking it in stride and have a pretty relaxed attitude about it. This is the first time this has happened in 15 years, but Thailand has a long history of coups. I am going to post some picts that I found on the internet of what is going on here from the AP. Keep Thailand in your prayers and pray that the Lord would be glorified in whatever happens here in the next few weeks.

Now that's a traffic jam. Don't you hate it when people drive on the shoulder to get around traffic!
