At Work in Myanmar

Okay, this post is for all you guys who keep asking to see more pictures of me. These are all taken on my recent trip to Myanmar when Angela and Eliana were back home.

This is our team. Tim on the left is one of my best buddies here in Chiang Mai and works with me in the mobilization/media department. He is in charge of the mobilization department for the next few months while our boss is on home assignment and is also the resident pro video producer/editor/filmer guy. Jacob and Betsy in the center have been travelling around the 10/40 window since February and are friends of Tim's from back home. Jacob is a great photographer and was a big help in getting tons of good pictures. Chad on the right is a videographer from the States and came out to help us make three videos. Thanks so much Chad for being willing to use your skills for the Lord in Myanmar.

Everyday was so much fun. Burmese people are so friendly and love being photographed. It is so great to have a digital camera and be able to show people their picture when you are done. Their faces usually light up when they see their picture. We would walk around everyday for 6-7 hours taking pictures and getting video. It was pretty tiring but we came back with so much good stuff.

Back From Myanmar

So I just got back from a 10 day photography/video trip in Myanmar (aka. Burma) for one of our teams. We had a great time traveling around getting to see a lot of Myanmar. We took around 3,000 photos, got around 8 hours of video and took many modes of transportation during our time there. Myanmar has a notoriously bad military regime government and is one of the poorest countries in Asia. In 1988 it was ranked as one of the ten poorest countries in the world. To learn more about Myanmar click here. While I was in Myanmar, Angela and Eliana had a chance to go back home for two weeks to visit family and friends. They have been having a great time in the States, but I am super exited to see them tonight when they get back to Chiang Mai. This is the longest we have been apart since we have been married. Here are a few photos of our trip:

Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon is Myanmar's most sacred Buddhist site. It is covered with over 200 million dollars worth of gold and is topped by 5,448 diamonds. It is the goal of every Burmese to visit this pagoda at least once in their lifetime.

Powerful Story

This is such a powerful story. It is about 20 minutes long but it is definitely worth watching the whole thing. We don't usually post stuff like this, but I watched this video last night on the web and thought that it was really well done. These are actual pictures from this guys journey. This story is amazing!
