We met some of our friends down in Bangkok this past week and were able to spend three days hanging out and relaxing together. We had an awesome time!!! Eliana really loved it too because she was able to play with our friend's two boys as well as go to the park everyday to play. Here are some of the pictures from our trip.
We took a river taxi down the river for about 40 minutes. Eliana loved it! As soon as she saw the river and the boats she started saying, "Whoa, whoa, whoa!!" She had a great time in the big city and loved riding on the skytrain, the subway, boats and airplanes. She also especially loved pointing out all the buses in the city as they drove by. We carried her around in our kids' backpack, which worked out great because Thailand is not the most stroller friendly country. Sorry that we didn't get a picture of her in the backpack, but thanks SOO much to all you guys who bought it for us. She loved riding in it, although daddy's shoulders were a little sore at the end of the week.
Loving the boat ride! Notice the drool:)
Wat Arun from the Chao Praya River. In the foreground, left, is the kind of river taxi that we were on.
One of the highlights of the trip for Eliana and us was being able to take her to a park in downtown Bangkok. I don't know what is going on with Chiang Mai, but Bangkok had some great parks for kids. Someone needs to bring some of those kinds of parks up here to North Thailand. Eliana loved going up and down the slide and watching people feed the fish. We went to the park every evening with our friends and ate at some of the side stalls close to the park. Great food and a great price!
Checking out the slide before going on it. It usually takes her a while to build up confidence to go on stuff like this, but once she gets going, there is no stopping her.
She doesn't know how to say slide, but every time she sees one she says, "Whee, whee, whee!" Enough said.
Just a bonus picture for the grandparents. At the guesthouse in Bangkok.
Eliana is growing up so fast! She is such a good little girl and really getting more and more personality every day.
Kisses
The other day John and Eliana walked to the corner store and John bought a coffee. Eliana walked the whole way back with the can in her arm pretending that she was taking sips and saying, "Mmmm." Aparently she is going to be a future coffee drinker.
